Your sailor will enjoy a week of skill building and fun on the water!
Campers will learn to sail in Optimist sailboats (Optis) - small, single sail boats designed especially for sailors who weigh 120 pounds or less. These boats are easy to handle, highly stable, and tons of fun - ideal for learning the fundamentals of sailing.
Campers will learn: capsize safety and recovery, basic sailing terminology and boat parts, how to rig and de-rig an Opti sailboat, wind awareness and points of sail, steering and sail control, water safety and right-of-way rules, teamwork, responsibility, and problem solving on the water.
