Adult & Family Lessons

Course Details

Over the course of four evening sessions, aspiring sailors will learn basic sailboat handling in one of KSF's larger sailboats (Lightnings, RS Quest, 420, Lido).

Our skilled instructors are U.S. Sailing Level 1 Certified, and include talented members and graduates of our Kitsap High School Sailing Teams. Sailor/Instructor ratio is 3:1.

Through both on-shore and on-the-water activities, our instructors will teach you proper boat rigging and knots, how sailboats work and how to find the wind, navigation, boating safety, and more. Our emphasis will be on hands-on sailing experience, with all participants getting to experience sailing as both crew and skipper!

*This course does not grant a U.S. Sailing Keelboat Certification, however we will discuss/cover many of the topics that are required for such certification.

**Completion of this course grants you the opportunity to attend open sailing nights throughout the summer. Invitations will be sent to qualified participants via email.
